Herbarium
Plant biodiversity protects the vineyard. Cartizze is the pearl of Valdobbiadene Denomination, a handkerchief of land of only 108 hectares from which the wine of the same name is born. The surrounding landscape is characterised by the monoculture of the Glera vine. Plant biodiversity is an element that could contribute to increasing the resistance and responsiveness of the “vineyard system”, factors that are indispensable to ensure the continuity of production in the long term. Herbarium, published by Ruggeri, commissioned by Paolo Bisol and his daughter Isabella, is a precious book in which 116 species found in this small area are surveyed (described and photographed), enriching its essence and testifying to its richness. A hymn to the biodiversity of an enchanting place, whose graceful and intriguing wine should be worth much more.
